Wallyo ("we", "our", or "us") provides the Wallyo mobile app and related services (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information You Provide
When you create an account or use the Services, you may provide information such as:
- Account details like your email address and profile information.
- App preferences including theme, currency, notification settings, and calendar preferences.
- Financial data you enter, including budgets, transactions, categories, and goals.
- Support requests or feedback you send to us.
- Daily activity, such as whether you used the app on a given day, which we use to show your active days in your profile stats. This does not include any financial data you add in the app.
- Product usage data (e.g. which screens you view in the app), collected via analytics tools such as PostHog, to understand how the app is used and to improve our services. This does not include financial data or personally identifiable information such as your name, address, or similar details.
How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Store your account details and app preferences on our servers to enable account management and sync settings across devices.
- Facilitate backup of your financial data to your own cloud storage account (Google Drive, with Dropbox and iCloud support coming soon) when you enable this feature.
- Process subscriptions and manage access to premium features.
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you.
- Protect the security and integrity of the Services.
- Track and display your daily activity in your profile stats, including how many days you have been active.
- Collect and analyze app usage (e.g. which screens are viewed) via product analytics tools such as PostHog to improve the app. This does not include financial data or personally identifiable information.
Data Storage
Financial Data
Your financial data (budgets, transactions, categories, goals, and related information) is stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud backup, this data is backed up directly to your own cloud storage account (Google Drive, with Dropbox and iCloud support coming soon). We do not store your financial data on our servers.
Account and Preferences
We store your account information (email, profile) and app preferences on our servers to provide a consistent user experience and to synchronize your settings across your devices. These preferences include only the options you configure in the Settings screen—such as theme, currency, notification settings, and calendar preferences—and do not include any of your financial data. This allows you to recover your configuration when you switch devices or reinstall the app.
Daily Activity and Profile Stats
We track your daily activity (for example, whether you used the app on a given day) and store this information on our servers so we can show you how many days you have been active. This appears in your profile stats and lets you see your activity streak. This data does not include any financial data you add in the application; it is used only for the app experience. This data is associated with your account and is deleted when you delete your account.
Product Analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog to collect app usage data, such as which screens are viewed within the app, to understand how our services are used and to improve the product. This data does not include any financial data you enter or store in the app, and does not include personally identifiable information—such as your name, address, or similar details—that relates to you directly.
You can disable cloud backup in the app at any time. Since financial data backups are stored in your own cloud storage account, you have full control to manage or delete them directly.
Sharing of Information
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the Services (for example, hosting, authentication, or subscription management). We do not sell your personal information.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Your Choices
You can access, update, or delete your account information in the app. You can also export your data and disable cloud sync features.
Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when changes are made.
